ATL Vegans Support Good Causes!

This Saturday, October 6th is Farm Sanctuary's Walk For Farm Animals! The walk begins at Piedmont Park, and registration is at 9:00 AM. Click here for more information on how to register.

Also, don't forget about the Herbivore Magazine Release Party for Issue #14 here at Cosmo's Vegan Shoppe on Monday, October 8th. Editor Josh Hooten will be here to represent and share some excerpts from the new issue, and we will have a lovely sampling baked goods courtesy of Idalys Sansores of Dulce Vegan.

After much debating about which charity to donate a portion of our profits from this event to, we decided to let Cosmo and Miles pick the organization this time around. Luckily, our kitties are smart so they chose Good Mews!

Good Mews is a local organization that provides a no-kill, cage-free haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats until placing them in permanent, loving homes. Good Mews promotes public awareness regarding the value of pets, animal welfare, pet overpopulation, and quality human-animal companionship through education and outreach programs. Good Mews is one of the few virtually cage-free, no-kill cat shelters in the State of Georgia. Since 1990, Good Mews has placed approximately 5,000 cats in permanent homes. The shelter receives no government support, relying solely on donations of time, service and money from its supporters, the public and area businesses. Good Mews is home to approximately 100 residents at any given time, most of whom live at the shelter; some also reside in foster care. Good Mews has an average adoption rate of approximately 5 cats per week.

For every purchase made at Cosmo's on Monday October 8th, in-store as well as online, a portion of the profit will be donated to Good Mews. As if you needed another good reason to come out with us on a Monday night!
