Brand New:: Soups, Gravies, and More!

We really love the new soups and gravies from Leahey Foods. The soups are available in "No Chicken" Noodle and "No Beef" Noodle varieties, and all three flavors of gravy are available in single serving or gallon size. Yeah, that's right. We like our gravy by the gallon. Especially the Mexican Style Gravy. Nothing is better on a vegan burrito.
Also new: The Vegan Family Cookbook by Chef Brian P. McCarthy. A great cookbook that features some classic comfort foods. Over 400 recipes can be found in this useful collection.
"Kill it Dead" with this natural De-Funkifier!
Made with pure tea tree oil, "Kill it Dead" works great as a natural deodorant, refreshes your bed linens, pet beds, stinky feet and shoes, and is even good for soothing bug bites. There's good funky, and there's bad funky. "Kill it Dead" gets rid of the bad funky.

Pass It Along:: Vegan Art Exhibition

Cosmo's friend and vegan artist Veronica Ibarra (she makes the groovy buttons we carry...) is co-organizing a vegan art exhibition entitled Ni Musculos Ni secreciones (Neither Muscles nor Secretions) happening in Madrid this May 2007.
Here's a bit about the show from Veronica:
"The idea behind this event is to promote veganism and respect for non-human animals. An art exhibition is an original way of doing vegan outreach. We will be showing art that expresses ideas of veganism and animal issues in very different ways and styles. Art can be a very effective and powerful tool and has always been used to question injustice and provoke social change.
The fact that the artists involved are vegan is also important to the project. One purpose of the exhibition is for people to start perceiving veganism as something that can be interesting to them and even exciting and not a restrictive sacrifice. We want to give out the message that people doing interesting creative and enriching things can also be vegan. Ni Musculos ni Secreciones will be the first contact that a lot of people will have with the concept of veganism, so we intend to give them a positive first impression."
