More on the DIY Marshmallows

Remember the Vegan Marshmallow Kit we told you about yesterday? Well, we whipped a batch up last night in the Cosmo's Test Kitchen (all in the name of research!).
The result? A huge pile of about 60 big, beautiful marshies just begging to be roasted, melted and smored. Is smored a word?
We found this kit quite easy to use. It did take several pans and a mixer, but it was definitely a fun and rewarding experience. Want to make your own? Go for it!

DIY Marshmallows and A Shipping Discount Reminder

Have you ever wanted to make your own vegan marshmallows, but didn't know the right combination of agar, vegan gelatin, and other ingredients? Well thanks to the lovely Alice from Angel Foods in New Zealand, you can make your own big batch of marshies right in your own kitchen using this special kit.
Each kit contains the exact amount of gelling agent as well as specific and easy to follow instructions. You will need to have a few common ingredients on hand in addition to the kit, though. So check your pantry for cornstarch, syrup, sugar and vanilla extract. Then get to candy making!

Armando & Ashley stopped by the store today to be our models for the shirt. It's amazing what folks will do for vegan baked goods.

Kittens need a loving home!

Our friend Christy is up to her neck in cats, because strays flock to her and she has a soft, kitten-shaped heart.

Christy has recently rescued two more kitten strays, and is looking to place them in a loving home. There is one boy and one girl, both adorable gray tabbies. They have both been spayed/neutered and have had their first shots. A $50 fee will be applied toward vet expenses, and a vet reference is required. Want a sweet kitty to share your life with? Summer Travels?

We love each and every one of our customers. Seriously, you guys are awesome. We have been especially amazed at all of the summer travelers that have stopped in to see us on your way to the beach or whatever. It warms our hearts that folks actually make a point to drive through Atlanta to visit little ol' Cosmo's! So thanks!

Books, Junk Food, and a Local Event

We have some new goodies to tell you about. Dulce Vegan now makes sticky buns! Available both in-store and online.
In other vegan junk food news, we have some bagged snacks to keep your belly happy, and your sodium intake high. Newman's Protein Pretzels and Lesser Evil Krinkle Sticks.

In the cookbook department (department- ha! It's more of a shelf) we have some new titles for you. Vegan Bites: Recipes For Singles By Beverly Lynn Bennett and Instead of Chicken Instead of Turkey By Karen Davis. Leigh can't help herself, she just loves vegan cookbooks!

We also want to share a local event for you ATL folks. The Georgia Peace and Justice Coalition is having a benefit concert and silent auction at WonderRoot on Friday August 1st @ 8:00PM. Included in the festivities will be a vegan bake sale. So stop by and fill up on baked treats! All proceeds go towards youth outreach and counter-recruitment efforts. Holiday schedule and some new stuff!

Attention local folks: Cosmo's will be closed tomorrow (July 4th) so we can properly celebrate Independence Day. This will most likely involve some good vegan food and much-needed quality time with the cats. Moe & Miles thank you for your understanding!
