Our friend Jeanette, creator of the lovely vegan dishes we carry, has had some horrible luck this week! Jeanette, along with all of the other talented artists who run the co-op Cabbagetown Clay & Glassworks, suffered a blow when their studio storefront collapsed after being hit by an emergency vehicle.



If you are in the position to, please consider donating a few bucks to help the artists who run this non-profit studio. A lot of work was lost in this crash!

In less exciting news, the mail and UPS will not pick up on Monday due to it being Labor Day. So please keep in mind that any orders placed this weekend will not be shipped until Tuesday.

You should see our cookie section in the store now. The shelf is practically overflowing with sugary goodness! The latest and greatest in the cookie department are these little gems from Emily's Desserts. We ate way too many of these tasty cookies at the AR Conference last week. Our current favorites are the Oatmeal Chocolate Cherry Pecan. Lordy!

And there are only a few days left to vote in the Veg News 2008 Veggie Awards. Do you like us? Then how about a vote, eh? You know we love you. :)

Our friend Christy who does cat rescues has two adorable kittens that need a loving home ASAP!

The kitties are one boy, one girl, both gray tabbies. They are about 5 months old and are very playful and sweet. Christy has had them both spayed/neutered, and they have had their first shots. A reasonable adoption fee will be required, to go toward vet expenses.

This brother and sister team adore each other's company, and would make a great pair to adopt together! They are currently in a foster home with a dog, and things are going well with everyone getting along.

Our buddy Jared is trying to put together an all vegan bike team to race with him in the upcoming 24 hour bike race put on by the Faster Mustache folks. FM-24-08

Our rental van is packed, and we're heading out to the AR Conference. If you are attending the conference, be sure to stop by our exhibit booth and say "hi"! If you are heading to our store in Atlanta this weekend, don't worry, we will still be open. Our buddy Jeanette will serve as our skeleton crew while we are away.

There is an animal sanctuary in Wyoming that we just found out about, The Kindness Ranch. It's a sanctuary specifically for former research animals, and they are pretty new and are in need of donations in order to do this important work. So check them out, won't you?
