Please join us this Friday for Fur Free Friday and be a voice for the voiceless victims. They are counting on YOU. Over 2 million CATS & DOGS are killed each year for fur products. Yes, cats and dogs!!!

Why: Dogs and cats in China are bludgeoned, hanged, bled to death and strangled with wire nooses so that their fur can be turned into trim and trinkets. This fur is often deliberately mislabeled as fur from other species and is exported to the United States to be sold to unsuspecting customers in retail stores.

Forgotten Animals Rescue is a local non-profit that rescues animals from death row at the local kill shelters, and helps find them permanent, loving homes.

We just got in some copies of a new soulfood cookbook written by local Atlantan, the lovely Afya Ibomu. The Vegan Soulfood Guide to the Galaxy also comes with a DVD on how to prepare tofu in a variety of ways. This book looks great, ya'll!

Also, we have some good news for vegan ice cream lovers in Atlanta. The popular ice cream parlor Jake's now has a delicious new line of vegan ice cream called Nicecream. Nicecream is a soy-free vegan ice cream that is made with coconut cream. We had the pleasure of trying Nicecream ourselves, and we gotta say that it's sooo goooood. See how many o's I just used in that description? That's serious! Be sure to stop by one of the Jake's locations and treat yourself to a scoop or two and be sure and tell them how much you appreciate the vegan options!

It's starting to look all holiday-like up in here. We love stuffing on Thanksgiving, just not stuffed into some poor, dead bird. So use this stuffing as a side dish and leave the birdies be.

Something else we love on Thanksgiving is a big pile of mashed potatoes. Too lazy to mash your own? We've got you covered! Notice that one variety actually has Road's End Cheddar Chreese in it. What a fine idea.

We know how you guys love your novelty soymilks, so never fear. Chocolate Peppermint and Holly Nog are back!
