Hey Atlanta, there's a vegan bake sale coming up! The time and the place is Saturday, 1/30 from 12:00pm-4:00pm in front of Criminal Records in L5P.

"Come out Saturday, January 30th to show your love to the people of Haiti. We will be selling some really yummy vegan baked goods with all proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders. If you want to bake or make a donation to the bake sale, please contact Kristin at vegananderson@gmail.com"

Attention Atlanta folks! Cosmo's is putting together a screening of the movie Fowl Play on Friday, March 5th at Wonderroot.

Fowl Play is a documentary from Mercy For Animals that takes viewers on an unforgettable journey behind the closed doors of some of the country's largest egg production facilities and graphically illustrates the heartbreaking plight of laying hens condemned to lives crowded inside file-drawer sized cages.

Through touching interviews with animal rescuers, undercover investigators, veterinarians, and animal behaviorists, we hear powerful stories motivated by kindness and courage from the dedicated individuals who are fighting to save the modern day hen- perhaps the most abused and exploited animal on earth.

Connecting the dots between consumer demand for meat, dairy and eggs and the perpetuation of animal abuse, Fowl Play leaves viewers with a groundbreaking message of personal responsibility and the potential each of us holds to change the world- one meal at a time.

Hey everyone! We've been working our UPS carrier extra hard this week with all the new vegan products that have been rolling in. You should have seen his face when a couple hundred pounds of Evolution Dog and Cat food arrived yesterday. That's right! After many, many customer requests over the years, Cosmo's now offers Evolution Dog and Cat food in 5 lb. and 10 lb. bags. Remember when you swore to be true to us forever if we would carry this one product? Well, we're holding you to that.

In addition to dog and cat kibble, we also got in lots and lots of people kibble! Bulk 1 lb. bags of flavored TVP in five flavor varieties: Beef Bits, Sausage Crumbles, Chicken Strips, Beef Strips, and Chorizo-Sausage Chunks are now available for your dining pleasure.

We have quite a few new book titles in stock this week, but we haven't been able to post them all to the site yet. As of today, we have two lovely, full-color books to show you.
The owners of Herbivore Clothing, Josh and Michelle, are a couple of our favorite people. These clever activists and vegan business owners have released a book of every Herbivore design they have released since Herbivore began. The Art of Herbivore or Somebody Give the Vegan Corndog a Handclap is a book that we think you will really enjoy, especially if you have a sense of humor.
For those who are living with food allergies, have we got a book for you. The Allergen-Free Baker's Handbook is full of recipes free from gluten, wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame. This book is just gorgeous too, full of pretty color pictures of baked treats.

Happy New Year, folks! Things are getting back to normal here around the shoppe, with new products available now, more new products on the way, and plenty of restocks of your favorite vegan goodies.

New products this week:

Organic Whipped Puddings by Soy Yummi Foods- A couple cups of these rich, tasty puddings from Canada have already found their way to our bellies. Funny how that happens.

Rice Vegan Slices by Galaxy Foods- Because ten vegan cheese options just isn't enough. More! More!

Reduced Fat Vegenaise- Did you make a New Year's resolution to stop slathering full-fat Vegenaise on everything you put in your mouth? Or was that just us?

Earth Balance Vegan Buttery Spread- Because we love Earth Balance and we really do listen to customer requests.

Coffee Creamer by Mimic Creme- For all you coffee drinkers out there.

We have some more new stuff up our sleeves, too. Big things are happening! We just installed some extra shelving and another merchandising cooler to make room for all the new products that will be coming in over the next month or two. Stay tuned for details!

Though the holidays left our shelves a little bare, the restocks have been arriving all week, with more to come next week, also. Here's some highlights of this week's restocks:

- Tofutti Pizza Pizzaz- These are quickly becoming our most popular frozen food item. Glad you guys enjoy them as much as we do!
