Liz Lovely Frontier Cookie & Upgraded Liz Lovely Cookie Sampler

There's a new cookie in town, and it is unbelievable. We unveiled some samples of the new Frontier (thanks to Dan and Liz for the sneak peek!) at a holiday potluck, and our friend Genna referred to The Frontier as "The future greatest cookie in America". Yeah, that sounds about right. The Frontier is a soft and spicy oatmeal cookie with raisins and cashews in every bite. Try one!

Because of the new addition to the Liz Lovely cookie family, we decided to upgrade our popular Cookie Sampler to fit all five packs of delicious Liz Lovely Cookies. The Sampler is now available in a decorative, reusable bucket, and is jam-packed with cookie goodness. Spread the love and send it to a friend.

Bob's Red Mill TVP, Rapunzel Vegan Bouillon and Mary's Gone Crackers

Here are three more vegan staples that every vegan should have in their cupboard. Bob's Red Mill TVP is a tasty and cost effective way to add protein to your chili, stews, tacos, and more. Just rehydrate the granules, season, and use in recipes that normally call for ground beef.

If your dinner is in need of a quick veggie broth, just pop a Rapunzel Vegan Bouillon Cube into some hot water and you're ready to go! Use in any recipe that calls for vegetable broth.

Mary's Gone Crackers are organic and gluten-free, and they also taste really darn good. They're about as good as a cracker gets, really. These crackers are very crisp, and full of rice and seeds. Top them with guacamole, veggies, or eat them alone standing over the sink. Whatever suits you best.

Stay Well Tips

Cold and Flu germs going around in your town? Here are some tips we have compiled from a few different sources. Some are from the reference book Prescription For Nutritional Healing by Dr. James Balch, some are from a health insurance pamphlet we found laying around, and a bit of it was pulled from the "common sense" section of our brains that we probably need to use more often. Oh, and we have some handy supplement advertising thrown in there for good measure.
  • Wash your hands! The cold viruses can live on your hands for a few hours.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. That's how germs get in, you know.
  • Don't sneeze into your hands. Use a tissue of you can, then discard tissue immediately.
  • Stay active. Keep you immune system strong with regular exercise and a healthy, veggie filled diet. Even if you do find yourself with a cold, moderate exercise will help loosen built-up mucus and fluids. So unless you have a fever, keep moving!
  • If you do have a cold or the flu, refrain from close contact with others. The virus can even spread via a handshake.
  • Drink lots of water. You could even throw some Emer'gen-C vitamin C powder in your water for good measure. Vitamin C promotes interferon production, and interferons seem to improve the respiratory tract's ability to ward off viruses.
  • Once you're sick, try Zinc Lozenges. Medical researchers at Dartmouth College gave a group of 35 cold sufferers zinc lozenges, and told these individuals to take a lozenge as often as every two hours. Another 35 cold sufferers were given placebos. The zinc-takers' colds subsided in an average of four days, while the control group struggled with their colds for another nine days.
