Hey everyone, we have another cookbook to give away! Have you seen Sweet Utopia yet?



Sweet Utopia by Sharon Valencik is filled with easy to follow recipes for all kinds of sweet vegan treats. Lots of beautiful full color photos, too! We have made several treats from Sweet Utopia in the Cosmo's Test Kitchen, including the scrumptious Lemon Love Cups. Guess what we recently found out? Tofutti products are no longer made with sugar that has been bone char processed! While the non-hydrogenated cream cheese and non-hydrogenated sour cream have always been a safe bet for vegans who shun bone-char processed sugar, now the rest of Tofutti's otherwise vegan foods are bone-char free. Pretty cool, right? The first thing we did upon finding out this news was order in a bunch of Tofutti's Pizza Pizzaz frozen pizzas. These pizzas were one of favorite vegan junk foods "back in the day", and we hope you will like them, too. These are a frozen food, so standard frozen food restrictions apply to shipping.

Are you still interested in buying some vegan prezzies for Christmas? Well, aren't you last minute! Luckily, if you are within the U.S. we are still able to get your package to it's destination in time for the big day next week. Thank you to all who entered our cookbook giveaway! After writing the names of all who entered on a piece of scrap paper, we tossed them around in a vegan pottery bowl and drew a name.

The winner is Vegbrarian! Here's how Vegbrarian makes non-vegans shout, "I Can't Believe it's Vegan!"

Chocolate peanut butter pie. This is the dish that makes non-vegans do a double-take not only because it's vegan but it uses tofu, which many non-vegans are hesitant to try. I found the recipe in a peta leaflet but simply blend together 1/2 cup of melted vegan chocolate chips, 1/2 cup of peanut butter, 1/2 cup of non-dairy milk, and one 12 oz. package of silken extra-firm tofu and pour into a prepared graham cracker pie shell. Let it set in fridge for about a half hour and there you go. Simple and delicious.

You know what would make this week better? Winning a free cookbook! We happen to have an extra copy of You Won't Believe It's Vegan! by Lacey Sher and Gail Doherty, former owners of the highly successful vegan restaurant Down to Earth.

This cookbook is filled with some good looking recipes and color photos. The one thing that we think is a little weird about this book is the title. I mean, why wouldn't we believe it's vegan? As we know, vegan food is usually pretty awesome. Unless of course they were talking to one of the many omnivorous friends or family members that most of our have; the ones that skip over our meal contributions because they claim to "not like tofu". How can you not like tofu?! But anyway. Here is what you can do to enter the giveaway. Tell us about the last time you made a non-vegan say, "I can't believe it's vegan!". Was it that double chocolate cake you made for your mom's birthday? Or the savory squash casserole you shared at Thanksgiving? Or maybe you've tried a vegan dish that was so shockingly similar to it's non-vegan counterpart that you found yourself saying "I can't believe it's vegan!" Happy Friday to all! We have two new products in stock that we hope you'll like.

Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero is fresh baked and available for purchase! This new book title has been flying off the shelf since we tweeted about their arrival just a few hours ago. In fact we only have a couple copies left! But if you aren't able to purchase your copy this weekend, please don't fret. We have more coming in just a few days!



Another newbie product that arrived today are the mini marshmallows from Sweet & Sara. These are the same gourmet marshmallow goodies you know from Sweet & Sara, just cut down for ease of use into a nice cup of hot cocoa. Each little bag contains 2.5 oz of baby mallows for only $1.99.

Hey everyone! Sorry about our brief absence this past week. We had a great time in Sarasota Springs at the Veg Fest. Thanks to those of you who stopped by our table to say hi! We always love meeting you guys in person, it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

You may remember Kris' first self-published cookbook we had a few years ago called The Damn Tasty Vegan Baking Guide. That book sold so fast, we still have people contact us about it! Kris is back with 100 solid vegan baking recipes that are sure to please. Many of the recipes from Damn Tasty are included in her new book, along with many new recipes. Now get to baking!
