We can’t believe that September is here already! That means Cosmo’s Vegan Shoppe is officially six months old. We want to say “Thank You!” to all of our wonderful customers for supporting us and helping us grow.

We are working hard to bring you fun, new vegan products each month, and this month is a real doozie for new stuff! Also, we hope that all of you living in the U.S. who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina are now safe and sound. Our hearts go out to the unfortunate victims of the flood, hurricane and tornado (in north GA).

There are several reputable relief efforts that are in need of donations, for those of you who are in the position to give. The Humane Society Of The United States is asking for donations to help with companion animal recovery and care, and The American Red Cross needs donations so they can provide critical assistance to people in need of shelter, food, and medical care. You can make donations to these charities by clicking on the banners at the bottom of the newsletter.

Of course, we always have a monthly coupon exclusively for our newsletter subscribers. Be sure to take advantage of this offer soon! Brand new bags and wallets from Queen Bee Creations are here! Cosmo’s Vegan Shoppe now offers the Wonder Wallet- a nice, big wallet that can hold a checkbook, money, credit cards, and other essentials. We have several Wonder Wallet styles to choose from: Kyoto, Kinetic, Velocity, and Little Bird.

Also, we have new colors in of the Kinetic Wonderboy Wallet: White, Olive, and more of the popular original Plum color. Queen Bee Creations bags and wallets are all handmade, and super- cool. You do want to be super-cool, don’t you? Yeah you do.

Cosmo’s Vegan Shoppe now carries books! Vegan Freak: Being Vegan In A Non-Vegan World is our current favorite. Written by Bob and Jenna Torres, Vegan Freak is a perfect book for new vegans, seasoned vegans, and anyone interested in the “freakiness” that is veganism. This book provides tips on grocery shopping, restaurant-going, vegan travel, and even gives ideas on how to handle the uncomfortable family situations that inevitably come up at some point in a vegan’s life. Vegan Freak is funny as hell, while still being highly informative and helpful. Be sure to check out the entertaining podcasts hosted by Vegan Freak authors Bob and Jenna on their site veganfreak.com.

We also have some classic vegan cookbooks to offer you. The Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook, and Vegan Vittles: Recipes Inspired by the Critters of Farm Sanctuary, both by Joanne Stepaniak, and Cooking With PETA: Great Vegan Recipes for a Compassionate Kitchen. Check ‘em out and get cooking!

New in body care we have the beautiful and yummy-smelling Estrella Soaps. The almond bar is currently making our bathroom smell like….. I don’t know, something delicious and un-bathroom like.

Also in body care we have two new stick deodorants from Earth Science and some helpful salves from Merry Hempsters. Tattoo Salve with SPF, and Cuts and Scrapes Salve. Made with healing hemp oil, it’s not just for hippies anymore!

We have some wonderful new cosmetics to choose from. Beauty Without Cruelty has reformulated their cosmetic line, and it is now 100% vegan. Choose from high gloss Nail Colour, available in nine rich colors, Waterproof Mascara , and a long lasting liquid eyeliner. We are also offering Ecco Bella’s quality mascaras, available in black or brown.

In the supplement section, we now offer Evening Primrose Oil in vegan capsules. Evening Primrose Oil is a good source of GLA, an essential fat that can help with skin conditions, and also with hormone balance for women.
