 Gross!

I agree with Jennifer M. This stuff was disgusting to me. I really expected the dry feel of jerky, but it was slimy and wet instead. The flavor was not good at all! I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or what, but I don't know that I would want to buy this again...

Priaml Strips are fantastic! While my favorite flavor is teriyaki, my husband prefers the Texas BBQ flavor. I let my meat eating co-workers have a taste and now they're hooked too.One co-worker even requested that I bring him one of each and it was fun watching him spent a whole week trying a different flavor each day. These are really tasty!

These strips are pretty healthy and taste pretty good, although I will agree with the reviewer who much prefers dry jerky -- me too. And not all these flavors are created equal. Wasn't a fan of the Mesquite Lime. Thai peanut is pretty good, and Hot and Spicy is too hot for me, but my husband likes it. Seems to have about the same calories as real jerky, but with more fat. It's low in sat fat tho. This stuff seems to be mostly protein, then fiber, then fat, then sugar, a good order of things. Seems to have some vitamins and minerals too. Will have to see whether or not the texture and taste will continue to be pleasing to the palette. We shall see. Overall, probably one of the healthier choices.

 Not what I expected...

Sorry for those of you who like this product but I am one of the few people who do not like wet jerky (blck). I didn't realize that it was until I bought some. It was an unpleasant surprise. I don't know what I was thinking (assuming it was dry). The health food store didn't have stonewall jerquee (which I adore) so I had to settle. The flavors are pretty rancid tasting (in my opinion) and I couldn't get past the gooey texture. This of course is my opinion.

A very delicious chewy snack when you need a little protein kick. They all taste exactly as you would expect from their titles. Especially like the seitan ones. You won't be disappointed. Thai Peanut--is my favorite! Not peanut buttery tasting, just peanut-y. Teriyaki--can't go wrong with this one. Texas BBQ--the sweetest of them all, I'm used to more savory charred BBQ flavor so its not a favorite. Hot & Spicy--VERY VERY SPICY!! Mmm, if you're in the right mood. Keep something to drink close by. Mesquite Lime--Quite good, just the right amount of lime. Hickory Smoke--Good overall taste, just not as tasty as some others, IMO.

Primal Strips Meatless Jerky -Texas BBQ

I've never had "real" jerky, so I can't compare the texture, but I thought these strips were really yummy and fun to eat. :) The Texas BBQ was a little sweet for me, but I will definitely buy them again and try other flavors.

This jerky tastes like and has near-exact consistency of pulled pork, which can be a good or a bad thing, depending on whether you enjoy meat-like products. You could put the strips in a sandwich, and no meat-eater would ever know that it's seitan and not real meat. I tried the Teriyaki and really enjoyed it -- fantastic flavor, great consistency.
