We are coming up on our seven-year anniversary here at Cosmo’s Vegan Shoppe. When we began offering vegan specialty products online in 2005, our intention was based on activism. By offering fun vegan products, we hoped to spark people’s interest in veganism, as well as keep current vegans happy with a steady supply of donuts, marshmallows, vitamins, and more. As we grew, we met all kinds of amazing folks: new vegans and vegan-curious, seasoned vegans and activists, friends and family of vegans, and animal lovers galore. We have seen many motivated people start up their own vegan businesses in bakeries, retail stores, and product manufacturing. The vegan community has grown so much. Vegan products have become so mainstream over the past decade that Daiya vegan cheese and other vegan treats can even be found at many chain supermarkets and restaurants! As vegans ourselves, we find this all incredibly exciting. We said to each other from the beginning, that if vegan products became so readily available that we would need to close up shop, then that’s a great thing for veganism!
As owners of a small, vegan-owned retail business, it is with a heavy heart that we announce our closing as of March 31, 2012. It’s been a fabulous seven years, but we are now ready to move on and put our activism to use in other areas. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years- we had so much fun serving you. Thank you to all the new friends we have met as a result of this business, we cherish you all! And we ask you to do us a solid- please support vegan businesses as often as you can. Keep the money in the family and watch our community continue to grow!

We will continue to restock our most popular items for a period of a few weeks, after that items on the site will be first come first served. We will be offering clearance sales closer to closing time, but your favorites might be sold out by then so do act quickly.
