Dandies for Haiti!
Hey marshmallow lovers, it’s time to direct some of that love to Haiti. One year ago, Haiti was hit by a catastrophic earthquake, and the people of Haiti are still suffering from this tragedy. To help raise money for this important cause, Cosmo’s has teamed up with Chicago Soy Dairy, the makers of one of our all-time best selling products: Dandies Marshmallows! Together, we will donate $1.00 per bag from Dandies purchased at Cosmo’s between now and January 16th. So if you are a Dandies lover, now is the time to stock up for a great cause!
All donations will be split between two organizations: One Hundred For Haiti, and Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees. For more information and for other ways to get involved, please visit 100 Shows For Haiti.
We have so many of you purchase Dandies from us, all we ask is that you direct that Dandies desire to our store between now and January 16th. It’s for a great cause! Crispy rice treats and s’mores for everyone!

Ordering for Thanksgiving?
Hey folks! As I’m sure you know, Thanksgiving is next Thursday the 25th. If you have not yet placed your order for a holiday roast or other Thanksgiving foodage, please be aware of the following shipping details:
UPS does not run on weekends, and they are not running on Thanksgiving day. So if you place an order between now and Monday morning, you will need to choose a two-day shipping option to receive your order by Wednesday. UPS Ground can be chosen if you live within a two-day ship time, and you can see if you are within two days by checking the UPS map here (scroll down just a tad for the map). If you live outside of a two-day ship time, you will need to choose UPS 2nd Day Air to receive your order by Wednesday. If you place your order on Monday after 12:00 pm or Tuesday morning, UPS Next Day Air is your option to deliver by Wednesday.
Please keep in mind that while USPS Priority Mail is listed as an option, the post office does not guarantee 2-3 day delivery on Priority Mail packages. We do not recommend choosing USPS Priority Mail for perishable orders.
At this moment, we do have lots of Celebration Roasts, but only a couple of Match Holiday Roasts left in stock. We have one lonely little Stuffed Hazelnut Cranberry Roast left. Will it be yours?

Cookbooks and other fun reads
Hey! We have some new books that arrived this week that we think you’re going to like. Perhaps you can give them for gifts or add them to your wish list?
For the ladies out there, Melisser Elliott wants to school you on all things vegan. The Vegan Girl’s Guide To Life is a full color book filled with crafts, recipes, beauty secrets, and helpful tips and tricks.
Holiday baking season is almost upon us, and Kelly Peloza wants to help with her full color cookie baking book The Vegan Cookie Connoisseur. This hardcover, full color book includes many creative vegan cookie recipes that would be perfect for gifting or impressing guests this season.
To us, few things are more touching than reading stories of rescued farm animals. Kathy Stevens is founder and director of the Catskill Animal Sanctuary, and she has a new book filled with tales from her sanctuary. Animal Camp: Lessons in Love and Hope from Rescued Farm Animals
would make a good gift for any animal lover.
The end of year issue of VegNews Magazine is out, with the winners of this year’s Veggie Awards, caramel recipes, book reviews, and more.
Though we’ve had this title in stock for a few weeks now, it definitely deserves another mention with the holidays on everyone’s mind. Quick and Easy Vegan Celebrations by Alicia C. Simpson helps guide you through those holiday meals with fun and creative ideas.
Speaking of holiday meals, we do have our first shipment of the very popular Field Roast Stuffed Hazelnut Cranberry Roast En Croute in stock. Last year these roasts sold out super fast, and this year the manufacturer is only allotting a certain set amount for each retail store to carry. We only have two shipments coming this year, the one this week, and another in mid-November. So when they’re gone, that’s it! Grab one while supplies last, won’t you?

Queso, restocks and such.
Hey everyone! So sorry we haven’t updated the blog in a while. We will be sure to do that more often. Also, if you are on Facebook, you can “like” us over there for more day-to-day Cosmo’s blabber.
This has been quite a week for the tasty little queso that could, Nacho Mom’s Vegan Queso. Nacho Mom’s received some good press from a site called Hungry Girl, which is apparently quite popular because we have presold over 600 jars of the stuff at the time of this update. Just as a reminder, if you have purchased any of the Nacho Mom’s Vegan Queso from our website this week, your order will ship as soon as we get more in stock. The Nacho Mom’s crew is working overtime (and getting a case of nutritional yeast lung, from what we hear, ha) making queso to fulfill Cosmo’s and other online store orders for their good stuff. So, soon!
Lots of restocks arrived this week, including the most requested product we have ever previously discontinued- May Wah Bacon! Other restocks include:
May Wah Chicken Nuggets
Nate’s Meatless Meatballs in Zesty Italian Flavor
White Chocolate Chips
SoyGo Creamer
Leahey Mac & Cheese
…and more, more, more.
For you Metro ATL locals, we sure would love for you to come to our book signing with Carol J. Adams on Halloween afternoon! Please see invitation here for details, and RSVP if you can make it. We are so honored to host Carol at this event.

We know that Halloween is over a month away, but we want to be sure you have a chance to mark this great event on your calendar.
Spend your Halloween afternoon with Carol J. Adams, the author of the groundbreaking book, The Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-Vegetarian Critical Theory. The special 20th Anniversary Edition of The Sexual Politics of Meat will be available for purchase at this event.
Carol will be discussing The Sexual Politics of Meat, and keeping with the Halloween theme, she will also talk about why Frankenstein’s monster was a vegetarian.

Do you know anywhere in Metro Atlanta that could use a flyer for this event? Please feel free to print and distribute!

A special thanks to Amanda Morrow, who designed this great flyer for the book signing. We think Amanda really captured the essence of Carol’s important book in regards to sexism and speciesism. If you need a great designer, you can contact Amanda here.

press it.
We make a lot of tofu-based dishes in our house. Like many vegans, we love it as a versatile and cost-effective protein source, and it’s easy to incorporate into dishes. I have been dying to try a tofu press I’ve seen advertised called TofuXpress. This gadget squeezes the water out of your tofu without having to waste paper towels, and without having to balance your entire cookbook collection on top of your tofu. Honestly, I hate draining tofu so much, that I often just end up giving it a quick squeeze over the sink, which sometimes leaves me with watery meals with less-than-optimal texture, depending on what I’m making. Well, we finally got our hands on one of these fancy tofu presses!
It’s so easy to use! Just remove the top, stick your tofu in there, then click the top back in place. Set the whole thing in the fridge for about an hour, then drain the liquid out.
That’s it! No mess, no wet towels. It’s pretty dang convenient. You can also marinade in the Tofuxpress, as it comes with a marinading lid.
I’m really not one for excessive kitchen gadgets, but since I received my Tofuxpress about three weeks ago, I’ve used it probably seven times. That’s more than I use my food processor! And my crispy fried tofu has never been crispier.
We would have gotten one of these goodies a long time ago had we known it was going to work so awesome. The one thing that held us back is the $40 price tag. But considering how often we use it now, we feel it’s well worth it. How about you? We are considering selling the Tofuxpress in the store and we really want to know. Would you be willing to pay $40 for this product? Your responses are appreciated!
